April is "National Poetry Month" Matt Kramer Poetry gallery posts all month on Facebook

In support of "National Poetry Month" which is held in April, a Matt Kramer poetry Gallery will be published on his facebook wall page This Poetry gallery will be  featuring poems from his debut Poetry book release, and will also include an introspective look into the process of poetry writing, and the difference from writing song lyrics.
Just released:
An introspective look into my poetry production process –
As a published major label lyricist in the music world for over two decades now, picking up an expensive pen and a cheap spiral notebook has been in a way, like breathing to me for way over half my life now.
The number one question that I get when I talk about releasing poetry books, is having people ask me.
Well, isn’t a song a poem?
Yes it is, and there are at least 4 poems in my poetry book which were songs first. Some of which have been released on a prior studio album, some not yet released.
I started realizing that the words that I write in songs, without a doubt chained me to my rock n roll front man performer/Persona, and in a big way. Literally 95% my direction landed on that.
If you are familiar with any of my musical lyrics over the years, you’ll know how I have always gained great pleasure with writing something very unpredictable with an underlying meaning in the body of content.  It’s a guilty pleasure of mine which has allowed me to explore quite openly, and create a style and some stories that in conversion you might not get coming from me outside the music world.
Trust me I’m not always as I am when performing in a rock band 24 hours a day.
Life is more diverse and unrehearsed, and more than anything that shows up in the poetry or at least in my case.
Kind of like the way a certain day, or place can change a person’s state of mind, the contrasting subject matters at hand that vary within that is usually what is present creatively when I am in Poetry mode.
Poetry has taken me out of that self-appointed cast mold, while showing more of my personality that would previously never have got me on a stage to perform, with those old familiar lyrical patterns at the helm. It allows me to express from many more angles than I previously looked at while writing words in a song.
My character can be anyone with a pen in hand, and funny enough my songs lyrics will probably free up even more with this practice, and the sheer volume of work that I have accumulated in the 4 completed poetry book releases, 3 of which are soon on their way to your Kindle, Paper copy and I’m also producing audio versions of the books in my studio. As I write poetry very fast.
I also publish the books myself at Lascivious books to ensure no one meddles with the soup. When it’s done around here it’s done, and that’s also cool that no publishing company is giving me guidelines of how to sell my vision.
With the ultra-rare exception in my opinion, Poetry is not a high dollar earning business. So why have a publisher curbing your art when more than likely as numbers see it, it’s most likely going to be a financial write off to the publishing house anyway.
So if these books flop? Hey at least I fucked it up and not some other asshole.
With that said, from the bottom of my heart your continued support means the world.
Write loud!!

The Gathering gets over 200,000 people every year for the Traditional Pow Wow dances, Art and Awareness fair along with The "Reach the Rez stage" Litefoot is a amazing Rapper/Actor friend that I´ve grown to respect as an artist as well as a role model speaker for the Native American people all over the globe. *****Time for an update I guess*****

Lets start with Phil Varone's movie (my ex fellow Saigon Kick Mate) ,its a very truthful reflection of the trials, pitfalls and addictions, that tarnish the glamour usually not seen in VH1 stories. Much more like the juicy ones you just hear about your favorite troubled rock personalities, but never get to see. Even if you dont know or care who Phil Varone is, you will feel close because the film is so brutally honest, and we all will know someone in the same shoes. The film title "Waking up dead" was just picked up by John Daly producer of "The Terminator" and "Platoon" . I warned you! but you can check out the trailer to the film at (if your 18 or older), the film includes 4 songs from my solo debut "War & Peas" "Soul Star", "So Long", If God could hear me now" and film closer with "Change", and I recently wrote lyrics to a song Phil wrote on piano funny enough about the same week I left SK, The film also includes interviews with your's truly throughout the feature, and is causing quite a stir at Film Festivals.

Also since the waters are stirring, I will be re-releasing "War & Peas" with a new album cover done by my bud, Miami artist Joe Klucar (even I hate the origional cover). Which will be released in the spring early summer, Maybe with a little push this time. "War & Peas" is only available here at

Allthough Phil has left the music business to clean up, he has commited to do some shows with me to promote the movie, so watch out for that this spring as well.

Other that that I'm writing a lot, getting ready to do a sophmore release, also talking about some new offshoot projects with my old Coma Bud, Alex Kane (AKA Antiproduct check out which will be very heavy and loud. Separate from that, George Lynch and myself are going to have a go at writing again, but dont expect your usuall Lynch, he'll be wailing, but were going experimental left field much like the 3 songs we wrote together on "War & Peas"

I'm out
